At the heart of the 2024 ITS World Congress in Dubai was you—our participants. Your engagement, insights, and active involvement were instrumental in making this Congress a success. With 94% of participants rating the Congress either 4 or 5, and 64% describing it as excellent, the event truly reflected the value of our collective efforts. This Congress exists because of your participation, and it is through your feedback that we will continue to grow and improve. 

A Strong Return on Investment (ROI) for Attendees 

Participants came to the Congress seeking new insights, connections, and opportunities, and many left with valuable business leads, meaningful partnerships, and a deeper understanding of the future of intelligent transport systems (ITS). 75% of exhibitors reported they were very confident in generating new business leads as a result of their participation. For instance, one exhibitor shared that they generated 600 new leads through the Congress app, underscoring the value of investing further in this digital tool for future editions. 

For speakers, the Congress provided a platform for sharing expertise and engaging with a global audience, with 82% rating their participation as valuable or very valuable for their professional development. Meanwhile, 94% of participants highlighted the high-quality content and impactful networking opportunities as key factors in their positive experience. 

Listening to Your Voice: Key Suggestions for the Future 

As much as we celebrate this success, we recognise that the best way forward is by listening to the voices of our community. Your feedback is instrumental in shaping future editions of the Congress, and we are grateful for the constructive insights provided. Some key suggestions we take on board include: 

• More Focused Sessions: While the diversity of topics was appreciated, many participants suggested fewer overlapping sessions to allow for better audience engagement and increased participation. 

• Enhanced Technical Visits and Demonstrations: Several attendees expressed a desire for more visit slots and better navigation during technical tours, making it easier to explore cutting-edge innovations. 

• Improved Catering and Logistical Communication: Enhancing logistical coordination— including information about session timings, booth access, and lunch arrangements—will remain a key focus for future editions to further streamline the attendee experience.
