Following the momentum of the first day, Day 2 presents a well-rounded programme that blends dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and sector-wide collaboration with practical engagement. From high-level sessions to hands-on experiences, it offers multiple opportunities to explore the technologies, real-world applications, technical expertise, and partnerships shaping the future of transport.
The day begins with Plenary Session 2: Resilient by Design – Shaping a Competitive Mobility Value Chain, taking place from 09:00 to 10:00. This Plenary will address the urgent need for resilience in Europe’s mobility and logistics ecosystems to withstand environmental, technological, and geopolitical uncertainties. Speakers from the European Commission, European Space Agency, Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications, Correos, Regional Government of Andalucia, Southwest Research Institute will discuss strengthening transport infrastructure design and usage to counteract negative externalities, improve system reliability, and enhance sustainability.
Throughout the day, delegates can attend more than 50 technical sessions, including 35 Special Interest Sessions, 7 Technical Paper Sessions, and 2 Research Paper Sessions. The programme addresses a wide range of themes, from CCAM deployment and AI-powered traffic management to digital infrastructure, sustainable logistics, and policy innovation. The Technical Programme brings together practitioners, researchers, policy leaders, and technology providers for a full day of knowledge exchange.
Just outside the venue, live demonstrations bring emerging technologies into focus. Highlights include autonomous vehicle parking by CTAG, an autonomous shuttle demonstration by the Province of Groningen, drone-assisted traffic monitoring by DGT, kerbside management tools from EasyPark, and micromobility tracking solutions presented by Argos Mobility.
In parallel, technical visits offer delegates a closer look at how Seville is applying smart mobility in practice. These include the City of Seville’s C-ITS Corridor, the Mobility Management Centres of both the City of Seville and DGT, the Port of Seville and CTAG for logistics innovation, Amazon’s Logistics Centre in Dos Hermanas, an autonomous shuttle service demonstration, and an air mobility visit to CATEC and Airbus. Each visit highlights a distinct facet of digital mobility, from connected infrastructure and real-time operations to last-mile logistics and urban air transport. Please note that the places for the Visits are limited and must be booked during Congress registration.
The day concludes with the official ITS Dinner, taking place on 20 May from 19:00 to 24:00 at the Casino de la Exposición, one of Seville’s most iconic landmarks. The evening begins with a garden welcome reception, followed by a seated dinner in the grand hall featuring a refined menu inspired by local flavours. Guests can expect lively performances and artistic moments that echo the cultural heartbeat of Seville, culminating in a dance party that brings everyone together. Limited tickets are available and must be purchased separately during Congress registration.
Day 2 of the 16th ITS European Congress promises a deep dive into deployment, innovation, and real-world application with a packed agenda of sessions, demonstrations, and technical visits across Seville.
