From 19 to 21 May 2025, the 16th ITS European Congress will convene in Seville, offering a defining platform for Europe’s public and private sectors to shape the future of intelligent and sustainable transport. Organised by ERTICO – ITS Europe, in collaboration with the European Commission, and hosted by the City of Seville, the Congress is supported by the Spanish Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the Ministry of the Interior, the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), the Junta de Andalucía, and ITS España. This strong public-sector involvement reflects Spain’s commitment at local, regional, and national levels to driving forward clean, connected, and resilient transport solutions across Europe.
Over 3,500 participants are expected, including city and regional authorities, policymakers, research institutions, and private sector innovators. The Opening Ceremony will feature prominent figures such as José Luis Sanz, Mayor of Seville, and Juan Manuel Moreno, President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, underscoring Spain’s commitment to advancing smart mobility solutions.
The Congress technical programme features over 100 sessions led by over 400 mobility experts, combining deep technical knowledge with policy dialogue. From connected and automated mobility to AI-based traffic systems, digital infrastructure, Big Data, and multimodal logistics, the content emphasises real-world application. Participants will hear directly from those implementing and scaling ITS solutions – including public authorities and city officials turning innovation into impact.
In parallel, the High-Level Programme will bring together senior figures from the European Commission, national ministries, and city governments to address how resilience, sustainability, and innovation can be advanced through intelligent transport systems. Discussions will focus on topics such as green mobility, infrastructure and data resilience, and the future of connected and automated mobility. With confirmed participation from over 35 cities including Madrid and Seville, as well as institutional networks such as the POLIS Network, the Congress offers a strategic platform where policy, technology, and real-world deployment converge.
Within the exhibition hall, the ITS Arena sessions will provide a commercially focused space for dynamic, cross-sector dialogue and direct engagement with the innovators driving the next generation of smart mobility. These interactive sessions will feature contributions from both public and private leaders, including Google Maps, Amazon Robotics, EasyPark, Mastercard Innovation Labs, EIT Urban Mobility, the City of Seville, the European Commission, DGT Spain, as well as AUSSA, NAPCORE, the Nordic+ Consortium, the IDI Platform and many more,..
The vibrant exhibition area will feature more than 150 organisations, including both established leaders and emerging disruptors. Visitors will explore services, tools, and technologies transforming mobility in Europe and beyond. A national pavilion led by ICEX will present Spanish innovation at its best.
The Congress also benefits from the support of key commercial partners including CTAG, Qualcomm, Google Maps – prominent players contributing to Europe’s evolving transport ecosystem. Their presence will enrich both the exhibition and the technical dialogue, offering perspectives that bridge research, industry, and deployment.
From live demonstrations and technical visits across Seville’s mobility ecosystem to high-level discussions and strategic networking, the Congress will combine policy, innovation, and practice. Cultural highlights such as the ITS Dinner at the historic Casino de la Exposición will offer participants the chance to connect in a setting that reflects the region’s hospitality and spirit of exchange.
The 16th ITS European Congress is where Europe’s transport future is being shaped, through collaboration, dialogue, and tangible action. It’s the moment for mobility leaders to come together, not just to share ideas, but to co-create solutions that deliver lasting impact.
